Clive Hicks was born and educated in South Africa, but has for many years been resident in London. His career has covered architecture, chiefly in the hospice movement, photography and writing, with published work on holy places and spiritual art, and an early period as a ballet dancer, in which he danced at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. He has spoken on art as revelation for numerous organisations and conferences, including at several cathedrals and has in recent years led retreats to Chartres Cathedral.
