Cecil Collins and Creativity

“We only live when we turn toward our Source”

Michael Chaitow

Cecil Collins was a highly Creative Painter and Teacher, and a pioneer in the resurgence of the Visionary in Art. His central theme is the Great Happiness, the paradise we come from, for which we always yearn and which is restored to us through the creative imagination. As a student, Michael studied with him for nearly 10 years as well as being a personal friend for over 20 years.

During this day workshop we will view two films on the Paintings and Teaching of Cecil Collins. We will also explore some of his Creative teaching methods through some simple practical Drawing and Brush and Wash studies.

“The real Creative Nature is one which reconciles opposites by absorbing them into a third thing, an absolute”

“The world of time and space is the world of contraction of consciousness; space-time is embryonic consciousness”

Cecil Collins
